How review categories work

Six rating categories - what you rate and why it matters.

Updated 19.02.2026

Each review on Booquela is not a single score but six. This lets other creators quickly check whether a studio fits their specific needs - because one place might have excellent gear but terrible parking.

Six rating categories

You rate each category on a 1-to-5 star scale:

Equipment

Were the lights, backdrops, stands, and other gear in good condition? Was there enough of it? If you booked a podcast or recording studio, this covers microphones, acoustic panels, and other equipment.

Cleanliness

Was the room well-maintained? Backdrops clean, floor without marks, gear dust-free? If the studio had a visit before yours, did they have time to clean up?

Accuracy

Did what you saw on-site match the photos and listing description? Did the room have the promised size? Was the listed equipment actually available?

Communication

How did the studio respond to messages? Were the instructions clear (address, directions, equipment usage rules)? Did someone help you on-site?

Location

Was it easy to get there? Was there parking or good public transport connections? Was the entrance well-marked?

Value for money

Did the price match what you received? It is not about whether it was cheap - but whether you got appropriate quality for the amount you paid.

Overall rating

Besides the 6 categories, you also give an overall rating - one question about your general impression. This is the rating displayed as the main score on the studio card in search results.

What to keep in mind

Imagine you are the one searching for a studio and reading reviews. What would you want to know?

  • A portrait photographer will focus on equipment and backdrop cleanliness
  • A podcaster will check communication and accuracy (is the acoustics as promised)
  • A creator commuting across the city will appreciate location details

Rate categories independently from each other. A studio can have 5 stars for equipment and 2 for parking - and that is perfectly fine. Such varied ratings are the most helpful.

The overall rating is not an automatic average of the 6 categories. It is your separate, subjective assessment of the entire experience.
