Stripe verification problems - how to resolve them

Most common Stripe verification problems and how to resolve them.

Stripe verification usually goes smoothly, but sometimes something can go wrong. Here are the most common problems and how to resolve them.

Document was rejected

Stripe rejects documents most often for one of these reasons:

  • Blurry photo - glare, shadows, or low resolution. Take a new photo in daylight, on a flat surface, without a lamp directly above the document.
  • Cropped corners - all four corners of the document must be visible in the photo.
  • Expired document - your ID card or passport must be valid.
  • Data does not match the form - the name on the document must exactly match what you entered in the Stripe form.

After a document is rejected, you can resubmit immediately - go back to Stripe Connect in the owner panel and click Complete details.

Verification taking longer than usual

Stripe typically verifies data within 1-2 business days. If it takes longer:

  1. Check your email (including spam folder) - Stripe may have sent a request for additional documents.
  2. Log into the Stripe Express dashboard and check for any notifications.
  3. If more than 5 business days have passed without any information - contact us.

"Business information is incomplete" message

This error applies to business accounts. Make sure you have provided:

  • Full company name, exactly as it appears in the business registry
  • Tax identification number (10 digits, no dashes)
  • Business address
  • Details of at least one representative (person authorized to represent the company)

Cannot add a bank account

Most common causes:

  • Missing IBAN number - a Polish account should start with PL followed by 26 digits
  • Account in a different currency - the payout account must be in PLN
  • Account does not belong to you - the account number must be assigned to the person or company you specified during verification

What if I made a mistake in my personal details

If verification is still in progress, contact us - we will help correct the data. If verification has already been completed, you can request a data change directly in the Stripe Express dashboard.

If you cannot resolve a verification problem on your own, contact us through the contact form. Describe what you see on the screen - this will speed up diagnosis.
