Importing a calendar from another platform

How to import an external calendar into Booquela and avoid double bookings.

Updated 19.02.2026

Running bookings simultaneously on Booquela and another platform (or in Google Calendar)? iCal import lets you automatically bring occupied time slots from an external calendar into Booquela to avoid double bookings.

How to add a subscription

Let's say you have bookings in Google Calendar and want Booquela to know about them.

  1. In Google Calendar, copy the iCal link (Settings -> specific calendar -> Integrate -> Public address in iCal format).
  2. In Booquela, go to Owner Panel -> Calendar -> iCal.
  3. Click Add Subscription.
  4. Fill in:
    • Name - e.g., "Google Calendar - portrait studio"
    • URL - paste the iCal link from Google
    • Room - assign to a specific room
  5. Save.

How synchronization works

The system checks the external calendar every 15 minutes. New events appear in Booquela as purple blocks - clients cannot book those hours. When an event in the external calendar is deleted or changed, Booquela automatically reflects this.

What you can't edit

Imported blocks cannot be manually edited or deleted in Booquela. They are managed solely by the external calendar. If you want to remove a block - delete the event in the source calendar, and it will disappear from Booquela at the next sync.

What if the import isn't updating?

Check that the iCal link from the source platform is still active. If, for example, you reset the link in Google Calendar, you need to update the subscription URL in Booquela. You can find sync logs on the iCal page in the owner panel.

Can I delete a subscription?

Yes. On the iCal page in the owner panel, click Delete next to the subscription. The imported blocks will be removed from the calendar. New bookings will be able to be made for those hours.

iCal import is perfect during the transition period when you're moving bookings from another platform to Booquela. It ensures no time slots are double-booked.
