An employee left, changed position, or simply no longer needs access to the studio panel? You can deactivate them or remove them from the team.
Deactivation or removal?
You have two options and it's worth knowing the difference:
- Deactivation - the member loses panel access, but their data and history (completed checklists, damage reports, logs) remain assigned to their account. You can reactivate them at any time with one click. The entire history comes back with them.
- Removal - permanent removal from the team. For the person to rejoin, you'd need to send a completely new invitation and go through the entire process from scratch.
In most cases, deactivation is better. You don't lose assignment history, and reactivation is instant. Removal is appropriate when you're certain the person will never work at your studio again.
Step by step
- Go to Owner Panel -> Team
- Find the person you want to remove or deactivate
- Click Deactivate (temporarily cuts access) or Remove (permanently)
- Confirm your decision in the dialog
The change takes effect immediately - the person loses access to the studio panel at that very moment.
What changes after deactivation/removal?
- The person immediately loses access to the studio panel - on their next attempt to enter, they'll see a message about insufficient permissions
- Their activity history (completed checklists, damage reports, audit logs) remains on the platform. Nothing is deleted.
- The person's active shifts are removed - the platform won't try to assign new checklists to them
- Assigned but uncompleted tasks become unassigned - check if someone else can take them over
- Their Booquela account is not deleted - they can still use the platform as a client and book rooms at other studios
Who can't be removed?
The studio owner cannot be removed from the team or deactivated - it's a role tied to the person who created the studio. To transfer studio ownership to another person, contact platform support.
Before removing or deactivating a team member, check if they have active shifts or uncompleted checklists assigned to them. If they do, first reassign shifts and tasks to someone else so there are no gaps in service.
Can I re-invite the same person?
Yes. After removal, you can send a new invitation to the same email address. The person will go through the acceptance process again, but their previous history in the studio won't be automatically linked to the new membership.
