Room pricing is the base price - the one that applies by default. But what if you want more on weekends? Or evenings? Or in December? That's what pricing modifiers are for.
What is a pricing modifier
A modifier is a rule that automatically changes the base price under specific conditions. Instead of manually updating pricing every weekend, you set a modifier once - and prices adjust themselves.
Example: Kasia runs a studio with a base price of 200 PLN/h. On weekends she wants to charge 240 PLN/h. Instead of changing pricing every week, she sets a weekend modifier at 120% (i.e., +20%). From now on, the price automatically increases on Saturdays and Sundays.
Difference between pricing and modifiers
- Pricing - the room's base price, always applies (e.g., 200 PLN/h)
- Modifier - a change to that price under specific conditions (e.g., +20% on weekends)
Modifiers don't permanently replace pricing - they layer on top of it temporarily.
Scope
Each modifier can apply:
- To the entire studio - affects all rooms
- To selected rooms - only specified rooms
Time constraints
Modifiers can be limited to:
- Days of week - e.g., Saturday and Sunday only
- Hours - e.g., 18:00 to 22:00 (evening surcharge)
- Date range - e.g., December 20-31 (holiday season)
- Combination of above - e.g., weekend evenings in December
Where to find it
Go to Owner Panel -> Pricing -> Modifiers. There you'll see the list of active modifiers and can add new ones.
Start with one simple modifier - e.g., a weekend surcharge. Once you see how it works, you can add more. Too many overlapping modifiers make it hard to control prices.
Common questions
Does the client see that the price is modified?
Yes - on the room page, the client sees the final price for the selected date and hours. If the price is higher than base, it's marked as changed.
Can I disable a modifier without deleting it?
Yes. Each modifier has an activity toggle. A disabled modifier doesn't affect prices but is kept for re-enabling.
