Weekends are peak demand time for most studios. Higher prices on Saturday and Sunday are a natural way to increase revenue. Here's how to set it up.
Scenario
Jakub runs a photography studio with two rooms. The base price for both rooms is 200 PLN/h. On weekends, he wants to charge 20% more - i.e., 240 PLN/h.
Step by step
- Go to Owner Panel -> Pricing -> Modifiers.
- Click Add Modifier.
- Fill in the form:
- Name: Weekend surcharge
- Type: Multiplier
- Value: 120 (i.e., 120% of base price = +20%)
- Scope: Entire studio (applies to both rooms)
- Days of week: check Saturday and Sunday
- Hours: leave empty (= all day)
- Dates: leave empty (= indefinite)
- Priority: 10
- Make sure the Active toggle is on.
- Click Save.
Verification
After saving, check that the modifier works correctly:
- Open one of the room pages as a client (or use the preview).
- Select a Saturday or Sunday date.
- Select hours - the price should be 240 PLN/h instead of 200 PLN/h.
- For comparison, select a weekday date - the price should return to 200 PLN/h.
Alternative approaches
Instead of a multiplier, you can use:
- Surcharge: +40 PLN/h on weekends. Same effect at 200 PLN/h base, but doesn't scale with price (if you change the base to 300 PLN/h, the surcharge stays at 40 PLN, not 60 PLN)
- Override: 240 PLN/h on weekends. Fixed price independent of base
Multiplier is the most commonly chosen option for weekend surcharges because it automatically scales with the base price. If you later raise the base price, the weekend surcharge will increase proportionally too.
Common questions
Can I have different surcharges for Saturday and Sunday?
Yes - create two separate modifiers: one for Saturday, another for Sunday, each with a different value.
A client booked from Friday to Sunday. How does pricing work?
The modifier applies per hour, per day. Friday hours have the base price, Saturday and Sunday hours have the modifier applied.
