Deleting your account and personal data

How to delete your account, what gets removed, and what is retained by law.

Updated 19.02.2026

Want to leave Booquela? You have every right to do so. Here is how account deletion works and what happens to your data.

Before you delete your account

Before submitting a request, make sure that:

  • You have no active bookings (pending or confirmed) - cancel them first
  • All payments have been settled - no pending refunds
  • You have no open damage reports
  • You have downloaded all necessary payment confirmations - after deletion you will not have access to them

How to delete your account

  1. Go to Profile
  2. Scroll to the Account Deletion section
  3. Click Delete Account
  4. Confirm your decision by entering your password
  5. The account will be marked for deletion

You can also submit a DSAR request for data erasure - details are in the article about submitting DSAR requests.

What will be deleted

  • Your personal data: first name, last name, email address, phone number
  • Profile photo
  • Favorite studios list
  • Search history

What must be retained

In accordance with legal requirements, some data is retained for the required period:

  • Transaction history - tax and accounting obligations require retaining transaction data
  • Reviews - will remain on the platform but will be anonymized (author displayed as "Deleted user")
  • Damage report data - for the statute of limitations period

Can I change my mind?

Yes. After requesting deletion, you have 14 days to change your decision. During this time, you can log in and cancel the deletion. After this period, deletion is irreversible - there is no way to recover the account.

Can I create a new account after deletion?

Yes. If you decide to return to Booquela in the future, you can create a new account with the same or a different email address. However, you will not have access to your previous booking history or reviews.

Deleting your account is not the same as logging out. After deletion, you will not be able to recover your data, booking history, or reviews linked to your account.
