In addition to the room price and any extras, a Booquela service fee is added to every booking. Here's what it is, how much it costs, and what it covers.
What is the service fee
The service fee is an amount charged by Booquela as the platform. It covers:
- Platform maintenance and development
- Secure payment processing through Stripe
- Customer support for booking issues
- Transaction security and data protection
The fee is calculated on the room price and selected extras. It is not charged on refundable equipment deposits.
How much is it
The service fee is 10% of the booking value (room price + extras). For example:
- A 200 PLN booking - service fee 20 PLN, total 220 PLN
- A 500 PLN booking with 100 PLN in extras - service fee 60 PLN, total 660 PLN
The minimum service fee is 5 PLN.
Where you'll see it
The service fee is always visible before you pay - on the checkout page, in the booking summary. There are no hidden costs. You see the room price, extras, and service fee as separate line items, with the total at the bottom.
What about the studio's commission
The service fee is a cost borne by the studio - the studio pays a commission to the platform. It's not an additional cost to you beyond what you see in the summary. The amount shown at checkout as "service fee" is the full and final amount.
Is the fee refunded on cancellation?
The service fee is not refunded when you cancel a booking. The room price and extras are refundable - according to the studio's cancellation rules.
The service fee is not a VAT invoice from the studio. If you need a document for the service fee, contact us through the contact form.
