Pricing models - which one to choose for your room

Four pricing models on Booquela - comparison and selection tips.

Updated 19.02.2026

Every room on Booquela needs pricing. You can choose from four pricing models - each works best in different situations.

Flat rate

The simplest model - the same price for every hour.

Marta runs a small portrait studio. One hour costs 150 PLN, whether the client books 1 hour or 8. Simple, transparent, easy to understand.

When to choose: When you want simplicity and predictability. Ideal for getting started.

First hour + subsequent (first_hour)

Different price for the first hour, different for each additional one.

Example: first hour 200 PLN, each additional 150 PLN. A client booking 3 hours pays 200 + 150 + 150 = 500 PLN.

When to choose: When you want to encourage longer sessions. The first hour covers room preparation costs, and additional hours are cheaper.

Tiered pricing

The hourly price changes based on total booking length. The longer the visit, the cheaper each hour.

Example:

  • 1-2 hours: 200 PLN/h
  • 3-5 hours: 180 PLN/h
  • 6+ hours: 150 PLN/h

A client booking 4 hours pays 4 x 180 = 720 PLN (not 2 x 200 + 2 x 180).

When to choose: When you want to reward longer bookings. Popular in recording and photography studios, where longer sessions mean lower unit costs.

Fixed durations

Predefined time packages with set prices. The client picks a package, not individual hours.

Example:

  • 2h package: 380 PLN
  • 4h package: 700 PLN
  • 8h package (full day): 1200 PLN

When to choose: When your space works best in specific time blocks. E.g., a workshop room where sessions typically last 4 or 8 hours.

Comparison

Model Flexibility Encourages longer sessions Simplicity
Flat Any hours No Simplest
First hour Any hours Yes Simple
Tiered Any hours Strong Medium
Fixed Packages only Built-in Simple

Not sure which model to choose? Start with the flat rate. You can change the model at any time - the change only applies to new bookings, it doesn't affect existing ones.
